Did you see us in HK @IAVC?

We have recovered from our wonderful experience in HK at IVAC. What an incredible time! We had presentations from people ALL OVER ASIA PACIFIC!!!

What a buzz!!!

We were lead off by Dr Barom Yang from South Korea teaching us about her journey in the Nutritional Management of Diabetes Mellitus in Felines and  Comparison of Major Prescription Diets

Then Dr Amy Lam from Sydney Australia - from the world’s only pituitary centre enlightened us on the management of feline hypersomatotropism - acromegaly inspiring more of us to test IGF-1 in diabetic cats and entire female dogs.

Dr Linda Fleeman from Melbourne Australia, then had our FULL attention as she showed us the wide range of presentations of dogs and cats with Cushings - Hyperadrenocorticism. and the the incredible change of life patients experience when their disease is well controlled.

Dr Chris Sun - a specialist in anaesthesia working in Hong Kong, then helped us with handy recommendations for anaethetising patients with uncontrolled hormonal diseases. Then Dr Katrina Sun - oncologist from Hong Kong enlightened us with with non-surgical options for adrenal tumours

We then got dug in to our juicy abstracts thanks to the wonderful support from DECHRA. The breadth and depth of case presentations has us all buzzing:

We discussed:

  • Diagnosis and Management of Hypersomatotropism in a Dog — Dr Jeannet  Budiman Limiano from INDONESIA

  • Non-Surgical Treatment of Canine Insulinoma (also showing us some awesome glucose monitoring device data) —Dr Kwanhatai Rotjanakomet  Thonglor from THAILAND.

  • Oestrogen Myelotoxicity in a Cryptorchid Dog — Dr Ramadhania Kinanti also from INDONESIA

  • Canine Hypothyroidism Insights — Dr B. Roopali from INDIA

  • DHEA & Diabetic Remission in FIV+ Cats —Dr Maulana Ar Raniri Putra from INDONESIA what insightful information! Dr Maulana has also mentored at least two of our abstract presenters - thank you Dr Maulana!

  • We found more information to support Hypersomatotropism in Diabetic Cats —Dr Shek Hiu Wing Natalie from HONG KONG

  • NME-Associated Pancreatitis Treated with PEA —Dr Anisha Tiwari from INDIA

Then we had.a VESPA wrap up from our President - Dr Linda Fleeman followed by a boat cruise for all those involved in the day on the one and only Victoria Harbour - again many thanks to DECHRA for their generous support for VESPA!

We are already looking forward to the next time we get to catch up and discuss hormones in Asia - Pacific :)
